Resumen

Adult polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) is an autosomal dominant disease affecting primarily the parenchyma of the kidneys. The disease also carries with it extra-renal manifestations which are often the cause of death in these patients. The most common being cyst formation in brain (berry aneurysms), liver, pancreas, hernias and rarely aortic anyuersms. The involvement of the aorta in ADPKD is infrequent. We present the case of a 77 year old man with a diagnosis of ADPKD 5 years ago and a history of 2 aortic aneurysms and one dissection within the past 10 years, who presented with progressive shortness of breath for two week; he was found to have a new ascending aortic aneurysm.
